Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma or Equivalent.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
  • Must be able to work safely outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions.
  • Must be located with 35 driving miles of the Operating Center.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and serve on standby service watch.
  • Posse a CDL or be willing to obtain one within six (6) months of hire.
  • Ability to safely stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work at ground level and in excavations for extended periods.
  • Perform physical labor associated with gas main installations, leak investigations, leak surveys, and related utility construction work.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment used in gas utility operations.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to approximately 75 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Work may require working in trenches, excavations, and around active gas facilities.
  • Ability to safely operate company vehicles and equipment.
  • Work is performed primarily outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and humidity.
  • Position requires participation in a 24‑hour emergency response rotation, including nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and standby assignments, in accordance with the bargaining agreement.
  • May be exposed to noise, dirt, gas odors, construction materials, traffic, and other conditions typical of gas utility field work.
  • Must be willing and able to respond to emergency calls and work irregular hours as required.
  • Required to always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Work is performed within a defined service territory, and employees must reside within 35 driving miles of the assigned Operating Center.
  • Position is considered safety‑sensitive and subject to applicable company policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Mechanical aptitude preferred.
