GAS Pipefitter
About The Position
The Gas Pipefitter is an integral position in the process of construction, maintenance, replacement, and repair of natural gas distribution infrastructure. This position performs various fusing tasks associated with new construction, repair and maintenance of existing gas utility lines and related systems/equipment such as fusing pipe casings, vault lids and pipe fittings, fusing metal parts together, hot gas mains, repairing broken or cracked parts, filling holes, fabricating special parts and apparatus, etc.
Requirements
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- 1 year of gas pipeline experience.
Nice To Haves
- Class A CDL.
- 2 or more years of gas pipeline experience.
- Operator Qualifications (OQs)
Responsibilities
- Support crew with handling and fusing gas pipe.
- Fuse pipe that is ditched or drilled in the ground.
- Ensure every fuse meets quality standards.
- Keep tools in complete working order.
- Locate utilities by hand with a shovel and probe.
- Manage inventory on the truck.
- Teach other employees how to fuse pipe to the correct specs.
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
