About The Position

The Gas Distribution Dispatcher I is responsible for coordinating the assignment of work related to gas distribution, ensuring timely and accurate dispatch of work orders, including emergency situations such as gas leaks and damaged lines. This role requires effective communication with field personnel and internal departments, as well as maintaining accurate reports and logs. The position operates in a 24/7 dispatch environment, requiring flexibility in working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• Completed high school or equivalent (i.e. GED).
• 0-2 years' directly-related experience in fields such as education, retail/customer service, public safety services, field service operations, transportation, or logistics planning.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's or Associate's Degree
• 2+ years experience in Dispatch/Call Center
• Experience with two-way radio and dispatching equipment/code
• Typing experience (25 wpm)
• Certified Emergency Number Professional (ENP)
• Certified Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD)
• Working knowledge of typical systems and applications in a dispatch environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the assignment of work to ensure timely dispatch of work orders.
• Respond to and process emergency calls and orders.
• Receive and relay messages between customers, field personnel, and internal departments.
• Prepare and maintain daily workload distribution.
• Dispatch service orders by priority, date, and time wanted.
• Process and maintain accurate reports and logs.
• Maintain accurate on-call personnel files.
• Manage notifications of escalated incidents to management and operations personnel.
• Work with field supervisors to monitor scheduled work and make work assignments.
• Assess and schedule field employee overtime and reassign work as necessary.
