About The Position

Are you a motivated, seasoned sales leader with a passion for building high-value partnerships and driving sustainable growth? Do you thrive in complex, customer-centric environments where strategic thinking meets real-world execution? In this role as a Gas Account Manager I, you will drive growth in GDS' Industrial segment in the eastern service territory of North Carolina. You will be in the forefront of all aspects of providing an excellent customer experience with Enbridge’s existing industrial customers, helping them meet and grow their energy demands by collaborating as a strategic partner to meet their business goals while growing Enbridge’s revenue and system to support their needs.

Requirements

  • A leader with 5+ years of experience in sales, utilities, or the energy industry. Natural gas specific experience is a plus.
  • 3+ years of progressive leadership experience of people or large initiatives is desired but not required.
  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing, Accounting, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent specialized experience.
  • Knowledge and exposure to regulators, intervenors, competitors and other players in the energy industry and utilities ecosystem.
  • Through the eyes of your customer, you can see the bigger picture and can develop comprehensive plans to achieve results.
  • Ability to identify an opportunity. Driven to work in a target-based environment, achieving sales and market development goals.
  • A fast and eager learner. Ability to forge quality relationships with all internal parties.
  • You have excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and have experience presenting right and relevant information to different audiences as appropriate. You will present to numerous audiences, including internal and client senior executive management and functional business partners.
  • Experience using Salesforce or other CRM platforms.
  • Be familiar with local government and current affairs impacting energy and industry policy.
  • Refined interpersonal skills and ability to “read a room”.
  • Ability to analyze a spreadsheet and familiar with basic accounting principles.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing is required.

Responsibilities

  • Actively seek out strategic growth opportunities for the utility in the industrial customer segment, identifying market trends and growth drivers in the Raleigh-Durham region and surrounding counties.
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of industrial clients, including manufacturing plants, hospitals, universities, and government complexes, ensuring long-term satisfaction and growth.
  • Partner with those existing customers to provide an excellent customer experience and meet and exceed their upcoming needs with proactive knowledge and understanding of their organization.
  • Evaluate and drive the development of growth opportunities through a deep understanding of prospective customers and the value natural gas can provide.
  • Lead the full sales cycle: From prospecting and solution development to closing, project execution and long-term relationship management.
  • Serve as a project manager for complex customer initiatives: Oversee end-to-end execution of simultaneous industrial natural gas projects, including feasibility analysis, coordination with engineering and operations, contract creation, and timely delivery of solutions that align with customer goals and company objectives.
  • Build trust-based relationships. Be the voice of the customer. Identify and anticipate needs, influence internal teams to deliver value-added solutions that meet and exceed expectations.
  • Be a problem solver.
  • Drive non-regulated sales growth: Identify, price, and close opportunities for non-regulated natural gas services, consistently achieving aggressive revenue and margin targets. Create competitive bids, ensuring optimal profitability and customer value.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with engineering, legal, regulatory, measurement, gas control, operations, customer care and billing teams to deliver integrated, customer-centric growth solutions that are aligned with our strategic priorities.
  • Monitor and optimize: Track performance against sales targets, customer satisfaction, revenue growth, and operational effectiveness. Use data to inform and create strategy. Utilize Salesforce to track customer interactions, analyze trends, and create custom reports that inform growth strategies.
  • Champion process improvements and digital transformation initiatives to enhance customer engagement and operational efficiency.
  • Engage externally: Represent Enbridge in key industry events, conferences, regulatory discussions, and customer forums to strengthen our position as a market leader. Act as a liaison with economic development groups in your territory to identify and secure new industrial opportunities.
  • Support internal projects and regulatory initiatives as required.
