About The Position

The gardener/summer grounds keeper assists in the general maintenance and cultivation of gardens and containers as well as the upkeep of pathways and wild areas at JHMR.

Responsibilities

Cultivates and prepares soil for planting.
Weeds and mulches landscapes.
Waters flower containers and performs daily plant maintenance.
Keeps and planting beds and containers clean and properly functioning and prepares them for planting, including cleaning and preparing soil.
Sustains stone and rock gardens, stone borders and other hardscapes.
Maintains shrubs and trees within the resort through pruning, shearing and thinning.
Maintains the section of Crystal Creek that runs through the resort boundary, keeping the waterway clear of debris, grass, weeds and garbage.
Keeps the wild areas within the resort clean and manicured.
Monitors the drip irrigation system and performs updates, repairs and system checks.
Keeps resort pathways in good working and aesthetic condition through a variety of ways including weeding, raking, leaf blowing, sweeping, and replacement of fill materials.
Operates vehicles, mechanized devices and equipment, and repairs and maintains mechanized equipment.
Assists in keeping the hardscapes, decks and tram dock clean by keeping the resort trash and recycling receptacles clean and picking up trash around the resort.
Assists in maintaining, filling and cleaning mutt-mitt stations.
Maintains a clean work environment and workshop while keeping tools clean and in proper working condition.
