About The Position

The Garden Docent and Food Preservationist at The French Laundry is a unique dual-role position that involves overseeing the culinary garden's tour programs and preserving peak-quality ingredients for the kitchen. Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in gardening, event coordination, or related fields.
• Food Handler Certification is preferred.
• Previous management or hospitality experience is preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail, organization, and cleanliness.
• Physical ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Curate memorable garden experiences by planning, coordinating, and executing all garden tours and special events.
• Manage garden operations and events, developing pricing collateral and collaborating with the Estate Garden Manager to meet revenue goals.
• Preserve peak-quality ingredients using methods such as fermentation, curing, and pickling, and collaborate with chefs to incorporate these into dishes.
• Engage and delight guests by welcoming them, ensuring satisfaction during tours, and responding to requests promptly.
