About The Position

The Garde Manger provides essential support to our various restaurant outlets by preparing high-quality cold food items while maintaining excellent presentation, cleanliness, and food safety standards. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented culinary professional who takes pride in consistency and teamwork.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High School Diploma and/or GED preferred.
  • Must have 3 to 5 years working in a kitchen, preparing cold food and salads for counter displays.
  • Must have job related tools.
  • Ability to maintain clean personal hygiene.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • The ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced, potentially stressful environment.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, with variable overtime.
  • Must have the ability to successfully interact with other team members and management.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Food Handlers Certification
  • Garde Manger or pantry experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Sushi dishes is a plus.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present vegetables, salads, and cold food items for restaurant service.
  • Ensure all food products meet company standards for quality, portioning, and presentation.
  • Work assigned station(s) efficiently while maintaining the highest quality finished products.
  • Follow proper food handling, knife skills, and kitchen safety procedures at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout service.
  • Clean, disinfect, and sanitize cutting boards, worktables, and prep areas.
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies and Health Department sanitation requirements.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with management.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with guests, team members, and vendors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
