Garbage Truck Driver
About The Position
Waste Connections is looking to hire a Local Garbage Truck Driver at our site in Austin, TX . The position will be responsible for driving a Residential Garbage Truck with another driver on specified routes to collect solid waste and transport it to appropriate disposal sites. This job is extremely physical taking turns working on the back of the garbage truck. You will be on a driver/driver team for 6-12 months before having the opportunity to get promoted in to our other routes. Monday-Friday 6am start time typically working a 10+ hour day.
Requirements
- Class A or B CDL
- Clean Driving Record
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to lift 65 lbs throughout a 10+ hour shift
Responsibilities
- Driving a Residential Garbage Truck with another driver on specified routes
- Collecting solid waste
- Transporting waste to appropriate disposal sites
- Taking turns working on the back of the garbage truck
