About The Position

The Recycling Center Sorter position is focused on efficiently sorting recyclable materials to ensure proper processing and preparation for recycling. This role is essential in promoting sustainability and reducing waste, contributing to the overall environmental impact of the organization.

Requirements

• Previous experience in recycling or waste management is preferred, but not required
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify different types of recyclable materials
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects on a regular basis
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members
• Familiarity with safety procedures and ability to follow safety guidelines

Responsibilities

• Sort and separate recyclable materials according to established guidelines
• Inspect items for contamination and remove non-recyclable materials
• Operate and maintain sorting equipment
• Update and maintain accurate inventory records of sorted materials
• Collaborate with team members to optimize sorting processes and improve efficiency
• Assist with general labor duties as needed, such as cleaning and organizing the recycling center
