About The Position

Empire Disposal, a Waste Connections Company, has an immediate opening for a Local CDL Garbage Truck Driver to join our team in Colfax, WA. This position is labor-intensive and requires continuous movement in and out of the truck, manually collecting solid waste and dumping it into the back of a rear load Garbage truck, as well as transporting it to the appropriate facilities for disposal. We are looking for a safety conscience Residential/Commercial Rear Load Garbage Route Driver to join the team. Previous waste experience would be a huge plus! This route typically averages about 45 hours a week. Schedule is Monday-Thursday 4:00am to 2:00Pm, with Occasional Overtime. Hourly rate is $29.00/HR For CDL Licensed Drivers. Requirements

  • Valid Class A or B CDL with air brakes endorsement as a minimum.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Basic knowledge of truck components in order to complete pre- and post-trip inspections.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous waste experience would be a huge plus!

Responsibilities

  • Ability to read route sheets or Driver Tablet and service each customer identified or assigned by the dispatcher.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
  • Ability to perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading, at times with no helpers.
  • Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
  • Courteous interaction with our customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • A typical schedule for this position is Monday-Thursday 4am-2:00Pm, with an occasional Overtime. 45+ hour work week.
