Cedar Falls Utilities is currently recruiting for a full-time Garage Technician to join our Maintenance Support Services - Transportation Department. This position performs skilled diagnostic and mechanical work involving maintenance, repair of automobiles, trucks, construction equipment, and aerial devices typically found within public utilities organizations as well as assists in managing CFU's current fleet of vehicles and equipment. Compensation & Benefits CFU offers on-the-job training and will enroll employees into a 6-step apprenticeship program, consisting of classroom and field training. Non-commission, straight hourly based pay structure. Starting wage is based upon individual qualifications. Full position rate is $42.65/hour once a candidate can successfully perform the essential job functions. Typical work schedule is Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm. Must be willing to work occasional overtime when necessary and in the event of breakdowns of equipment or vehicles.
