About The Position

The Parts Room Supervisor plays a critical role in supporting garage operations by overseeing daily material and parts room functions while ensuring team member safety and maintaining an efficient workflow. This position collaborates with multiple departments to coordinate equipment maintenance and parts supply. It is also responsible for leading and developing the Parts Room team.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in parts management, inventory control, or a related supervisory role.
  • Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to train and develop team members effectively.
  • Solid technical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Requires education beyond high school, including special training, vocational school, and/or college courses.
  • Requires basic computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal written and presentation skills.
  • This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel in a single department or work unit who perform similar and or interrelated tasks and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Parts Room across multiple garage functions.
  • Communicate effectively with Drivers, PFM Supervisors, Transportation Operations, and vendors to coordinate equipment maintenance and parts availability.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop all Parts Room team members, including hiring, performance management, and ongoing coaching.
  • Manage and track KPIs related to throughput, safety, compliance, warranty processing, accuracy, and training.
  • Maintain a high standard of safety for all parts room operations and team members.
  • Responsible for inventory levels ranging from $250K to $750K, including:
  • Parts turnover and inventory dollars on hand.
  • Part number supersessions and dead stock rotation.
  • Material stocking aligned with new equipment purchases.
  • Warranty claim processing and reclamation (over $2MM).
  • Apply advanced troubleshooting skills across all assigned equipment.
  • Train technicians on interpreting instructions, manuals, and schematics related to parts, equipment, and warranty processes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards; safety toe footwear is required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
