The Gaming Technical Manager is responsible for the daily departmental operations as it applies to the technical division of the Gaming Department. The Gaming Technical Manager assists in the planning and execution of all HHR machine and system related projects, and control of those projects as they relate to overall department revenue. Position to be located in WY with frequent travel up to 80% of the time including overnight throughout the state to OTB locations as needed. SCOPE: The Gaming Technical Manager possesses the ability to problem solve and demonstrate good judgement and communication skills while engaging with Team Members, guests, and vendors.

  • Provides supervision to the Gaming Technical Team and delegates day to day projects and maintenance of the HHR machines.
  • Actively participates in the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, progressive discipline and retention of Gaming Lead Technicians and Technicians.
  • Has a working knowledge of Title 31 requirements and internal control policies.
  • Works with the Gaming Director and develops short and long-term planning for departmental operations.
  • Able to travel up to 80% of the time including overnight around the state to OTB locations as needed.
  • Participates in the budget analysis of capital expenditures for machine maintenance and department projects related to the gaming floor and the Gaming Technician’s shop.
  • Evaluates operating procedures, recommends changes, and implements changes approved by the Gaming Director.
  • Maintains files for invoices and other documentation related to gaming maintenance, repairs, and purchases.
  • Executes department directives, objectives, and communication to include hosting regular huddles for the Gaming Technical Team.
  • Assists the Gaming Director in documenting project proposals and execution to include accurate cost, time estimates, operational procedures, business impact concerns, and estimated resources and training requirements.
  • Leads technical teams and sub-teams to implement and deliver expected projects in a timely manner.
  • Is familiar with the set up and programming of all gaming devices, player tracking systems, and gaming accounting systems.
  • Assists the Gaming Director in the planning and conducting of scheduled project status meetings that report on performance, milestones, actions items and issues.
  • Works with the Gaming Director and property leadership to conduct research of new technology that can either provide a competitive advantage or improve financial performance.
  • Ensures all minor and major repairs on Gaming Machines, scheduled and un- scheduled occur in a timely manner.
  • Directs the Technical Team to complete records listing repairs of department equipment in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Shares and communicates current and relative information regarding terminal(s) status with the Gaming Director and Technical Team.
  • Oversees the preventive maintenance program to ensure maximum machine performance.
  • Provides leadership and oversight to all aspects of machine conversions and relocations to include player tracking and networking.
  • Is knowledgeable and current on all technical data relative to HHR gaming devices, progressive and media hardware and software, and all components therein including but not limited to, bill validators, ticket printers, card readers, monitors, power supplies etc.
  • Is thoroughly familiar with OSHA safety codes to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Ensures Safety Data Sheets are properly maintained as they relate to the Gaming Department.
  • Performs routine and advanced Gaming Terminal maintenance, including but not limited to working the Gaming floor and responding to guest opportunities and floor calls.
  • Is aware of all upcoming special events and promotions property wide.
  • Possesses a thorough knowledge of the player tracking system
  • Attends to bill or voucher jams or other failures of the terminals.
  • Ensures that any work done meets with the manufacturer’s minimum requirements. This includes the assembling and disassembling of equipment in strict accordance with diagrams and manuals.
  • Examines all gaming related equipment for evidence of tampering and mechanical malfunctions.
  • Responsible and accountable to comply with all key control policies/procedures.
  • Accurately record problems or situations at the terminals, in terms of repairs, maintenance and spare stock levels.
  • Conduct periodic stock checks of spare parts and components for terminals and auxiliary equipment.
  • Professionally resolve any floor disputes and complaints and refer any unsettled disputes to Gaming Director.
  • Provides great customer service to guests and ensure their complete satisfaction, inclusive of greeting and interacting with guests in a friendly and enthusiastic manner, anticipating and meeting guest needs and preferences, remaining calm and professional when dealing with guests that are difficult or upset.
  • The ability to develop and maintain professional, trusting, and positive working relationships with managers, supervisors, staff, coworkers, guests, and vendors.
  • The ability to work safely. This includes clearly understanding and following company safety policies and procedures, completing work in a safe manner, caring about safety of self and others, responding appropriately in an emergency, and reporting unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain regular attendance at scheduled shift and staff meetings.
  • Maintain professionalism and a friendly and approachable demeanor throughout the shift.
  • Assist with training/mentoring of new team members as requested.
  • Maintain all appearance standards in accordance with established uniform and appearance guidelines.
  • Inform manager on duty of any irregularities and unusual situations when they occur.
  • Ability to keep a friendly, calm, and helpful demeanor in high-stress situations and a continuously fast-paced environment.
  • Is honest in all interactions and displays a high degree of integrity.
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision or as part of a team is required.
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
  • Prior relevant experience required.
  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook)
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must pass all required pre-screening and background checks.
  • Internal candidates must meet the eligibility requirements as provided in the Transfer and Promotion policy.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, this includes day, swing, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts as scheduled.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Wyoming gaming license.
