About The Position

Monitors, evaluates, and audits a variety of activities and/or departmental units within the casino and regulatory operations for financial and operational controls and regulatory compliance. Assists in the development of control systems and verifies that controls exist and are operating effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from 4-year college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Casino related field; or six years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • An additional one (1) year experience in a related field
  • Knowledge of Accounting software
  • Knowledge of Database software
  • Knowledge of Internet software
  • Knowledge of Spreadsheet software
  • Knowledge of Project Management Software
  • Knowledge of Word Processing software
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background investigation to obtain and maintain a Cherokee Nation Gaming License throughout employment
  • Must have knowledge of authoritative and regulatory issues governing auditing and gaming
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects and plan completion of projects in a timely manner
  • Must possess strong analytical skills
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Must possess strong verbal communication skills
  • Must possess strong written communication skills
  • Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Accounting or Auditing Gaming activities is preferred
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and/or candidate preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or candidate preferred
  • Certified Managerial Accountant (CMA) and/or candidate preferred
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and/or candidate preferred
