The person we’re looking for: PUBG Madison is seeking a Gameplay Engineer to take on a high impact role deepening animation systems and player movement in our next project. As a Gameplay Engineer you will contribute to the success of new IP by developing core gameplay systems. Gameplay programmers are given a large amount of autonomy in feature ownership, and are expected to collaborate with Design, Animation, Production, and Art stakeholders in order to bring the CD’s vision to life. You will continuously create, improve, and optimize systems in an iterative environment. This position reports to the Gameplay Technical Director.

Requirements

  • Bring a passion for games and gaming.
  • Demonstrable experience writing gameplay code in a AAA development environment.
  • An emphasis on creating core gameplay systems with expertise in one of the following areas (preferred): AI, Animation, Multiplayer, Physics, UI, Analytics, etc.
  • An ability to push features forward in a collaborative and iterative way.
  • Excellent knowledge of C++.
  • Strong 3d math skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience with client and server-side networking.

Responsibilities

  • Architect gameplay systems that are pragmatic, performant, and fun.
  • Work with the Technical Director to develop strategies and process to support engineering initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other development units in a distributed studio environment.
  • Develop in both a native C++ and UE4 Blueprints.
  • Openly communicate with management and production about the scope and progress of tasks.
  • Proactively support the success of other team members by providing technical guidance, participating in code reviews, and mentoring junior team members.
