About The Position

The Gallery Monitor plays a crucial part in campus gallery operations. In this role, Gallery Monitors will provide information to visitors, safeguard and monitor exhibited artwork and assist with a variety of gallery activities. Requirements

Must be able to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students and the general public.
Must be reliable, punctual and able to follow through on assignments.
Must be able to work independently and as a team.
Must be detail orientated.
Must have a general interest in Gallery Management.
Must be enrolled at Ringling College of Art and Design.

Nice To Haves

Previous customer service experience desirable.
Microsoft Word and Excel experience desirable
Social Media, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator a plus.

Responsibilities

Monitor gallery space to ensure safety and security of artworks.
Maintains cleanliness of the gallery space.
Greet and assist visitors, provide information about the exhibited artworks and artists.
Answer questions and engage with visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
Assists in the preparation of exhibits; checks in faculty and student artwork.
Conducts research on artists and exhibitions.
Performs clerical duties such as typing, filing, taking messages and answering phones.
May assist with social media.
Other duties as assigned.
