Why This Role Matters Gallery Assistants are a team of part-time staff that deliver exceptional client service to internal and external clients at the Front of House in New York during Marquee Weeks. They liaise with auction and operations departments when necessary to ensure clients’ queries and issues are handled as promptly and efficiently as possible. Finally, Gallery Assistants may be asked to perform Client Service in areas such as the Front Counter and Registration Desk This is a part-time position. Please note that Christie’s is not in a position to offer volunteer work or sponsor a visa for this position. If successful, you must be eligible to work in the US and have valid work authorization at time of offer. How You Will Make An Impact Gallery Assistants may be asked to perform Client Service in areas such as the Front Counter, Galleries, Payments and Registration Desk. Answer clients’ inquiries about sales and views, and respond to general questions regarding the auction process. Staff the galleries, coat check and/or client lounge during sale viewings and on sale days. Provide superior client service through gracious and attentive demeanor, prompt assistance, and by treating all Christie's clients in the most helpful and cordial manner. Locate and sometimes handle property kept on display during viewing hours. Assist Security in guarding the property on view by keeping an alert and watchful eye on the viewing area. Ensure the tidiness of galleries and coat check. May assist with taking bid instructions, Christie’s LIVE clerking and telephone bidding. Liaise with Bids & Client Service staff to obtain condition reports and/or catalogues and supplies for clients. Collate client feedback for Client Service Supervisory team. Take direction from the Bids & Client Service Supervisory team or specialists to perform ad hoc duties including assisting the Client Service team as needed. Follow Christie’s Dress Code policy (i.e. Black professional suiting).
