About The Position

Georgia's Pre-K Program is a state funded educational program for all age eligible 4-year-old children in Georgia. The purpose of Georgia's Pre-K Program is to prepare children for success in Kindergarten and later school years. The Pre-K Assistant Teacher is responsible for instructing 4-year-old's, based on needs of each child, and the requirements of the program under the guidance of the Lead Teacher.

Requirements

• Associates Degree or Technical Certification Credit (TCC) in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field, or an active CDA in Preschool.
• Experience in a licensed childcare center or related field.
• Ability to meet state requirements for education and center requirements.
• Ability to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.

Responsibilities

• Instruct 4-year-old children based on individual needs and program requirements under the guidance of the Lead Teacher.
• Follow all licensing guidelines, company standards, and grant program requirements to ensure the daily care of every child in the classroom.
• Develop the ability to accurately observe, assess, and plan for children, as well as effectively communicate with families.
• Complete extensive training on child care, preschool, and development topics.
• Implement curriculum while creating fun, interactive learning experiences for the children.
