About The Position

The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is seeking qualified candidates interested in an academic emergency medicine faculty position. The primary missions of the Department of Emergency Medicine are to be recognized as leading educators in Emergency Medicine and to be the premier provider of emergency care in our region. This academic faculty position includes significant teaching opportunities with emergency medicine residents, medical students at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, and fellows. In addition, there are numerous opportunities for involvement in teaching activities within the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the University of Maryland Medical Center. The Department has a strong focus on faculty development and seeks to grow the next generation of leaders in emergency medicine. The anticipated rank is Assistant Professor; however, rank and tenure status are dependent upon the candidate’s qualifications.

Requirements

• Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Teach emergency medicine residents and medical students at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
• Engage in clinical research initiatives.
• Participate in teaching activities within the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the University of Maryland Medical Center.
• Provide emergency care in state-of-the-art facilities.
• Contribute to the education of residents and medical students in various settings.
