About The Position
Under the direction of the High School Principal, the resource teacher (RT) provides leadership to departments or subject field(s), supports classroom teachers in the instructional program, serves as an instructional role model, and supports the development of a professional learning community within the department and school. Observes and analyzes instructional practices related to teachers’ professional growth and evaluation, collaborates with supervisors and colleagues on instructional issues, takes a leadership role in the handling of instructional resources, supports the development of the master schedule. Stays current on content and best practices in the specified subject field. Serves as a liaison to the central office on subject matter and instructional issues. Physical Demands: As required by the duties and responsibilities of the job. Special Requirements: Required to attend school meetings, programs and activities outside the instructional day as mandated by the MCEA agreement.
