This is a Federal Work Study Program (FWSP) student clerical position in which the student will perform computer and customer service-related duties in an office setting. Typical duties may include but are not limited to typing, filing, answering telephones, customer service, scheduling appointments, and Microsoft Office experience. The Office of Community Engagement empowers students to become active citizens and develop a responsibility toward community through service and volunteerism; community partnerships and connections; intentional learning opportunities; and a focus on civic engagement and critical societal issues. Through involvement and participation in Community Engagement’s programs, leadership opportunities and student-led events, UCO students have the opportunity to give back to and invest in their community on a variety of levels. Community Engagement oversees the operations of the Central Pantry, a free, supplemental food resource on campus. Central Pantry provides access to weekly grocery shopping for any student, faculty, or staff member registered as a client. Community Engagement partners with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma to operate the Central Pantry. The Community Engagement/Central Pantry Interns will manage the day-to-day operations of the Central Pantry in terms of volunteer and donation management. Tasks may include scheduling and communicating with student volunteers, collecting and recording donations, stocking, and assessing stock in the pantry, managing the pantry storage space, and hosting donation drives benefiting the Central Pantry and other local organizations. The intern positions may also assist with Community Engagement data entry and projects.
