About The Position

The FWS Library Attendant will play a key role in ensuring MIU's vast collection of knowledge and information is well organized and accessible to all patrons. With a focus on reorganization and optimizing our library layout, the attendant will support the smooth operation of our library, fostering an environment of ease, conducive to learning and research.

Requirements

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with some supervision.
• Punctual and reliable to follow directions accurately and efficiently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
• Basic computer skills, with the ability to navigate library management systems.

Responsibilities

• Organize and shelve library materials with precision and care, ensuring easy access for students and faculty.
• Identify and locate missing books within the library collections.
• Assist patrons in locating books, providing friendly and helpful customer service.
• Support the library front desk as needed, assisting with inquiries and checkouts.
• Help maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the library space, creating a welcoming environment for all visitors.
• Collaborate with library staff in revamping the new book section to enhance its appeal and accessibility.
• Stay up-to-date on library policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
