About The Position

This is a grant-funded program supporting youth in the community affiliated with, but not part of, the Cincinnati Fire Department. The intern’s primary role is to secure funding through writing and managing grants and produce key communications such as proposals, reports, and marketing materials.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled at Mt. St. Joseph University
  • Federal Work Study eligibility required
  • At least 18 years old
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work on own initiative, independently, and meet deadlines
  • Well organized, punctual, and reliable
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Research, write, and edit grant proposals, case statements, and fundraising materials.
  • Tailor content to specific funder requirements and audiences.
  • Identify and track new funding opportunities (public and private).
  • Maintain relationships with funders; serve as point of contact.
  • Track deadlines, budgets, and submission schedules.
  • Edit/proofread materials such as brochures, educational content, and digital publications.
  • Utilize MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and web tools proficiently.
