The Process Engineer provides technical expertise and support focused on improving the safety, reliability, and profitability on assigned process units in the refinery. The Process Engineer regularly works with operations, commercial planning, process control, maintenance, and other technical departments.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in job posting country.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering discipline.
  • 7 or more months of experience in an Engineering role in the energy industry or related industry.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 or more years of experience as a Process Engineer in the oil and gas industry.
  • 3 or more years of experience with process simulation software (e.g. HYSYS, Pro II, AspenPlus, etc.).
  • Possess a valid drivers license.
  • Knowledge of PSM.
  • Microsoft Suites (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Process Equipment Design (towers, heat exchangers, valves, pumps, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Design engineering solutions and the associated validation process to enable the realization of a design brief that conform to organizational and/or regulatory standards.
  • Analyze information and specify the methods and process steps, as well as the plant, machinery, and equipment, required to design and continuously improve manufacturing or materials processes and process systems to deliver the end product within specified cost and quality parameters.
  • Support technical troubleshooting projects and process operations, aiding in the quick and accurate identification, analysis, and resolution of technical issues with equipment and experiments.
  • Conduct research using primary data sources, and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends, including yields and reliability metrics.
  • Participate in Process Safety Management (PSM) activities such as MOC, PHA's and LOPA to support overall refinery goals around action item closure.
  • Maintain key process safety information including P&IDs, PFDs, Heat and Material Balances.
  • Provide process and technical support for major turnarounds, maintenance projects, and unit shutdown/startups on shift schedule.
  • Visibly demonstrate commitment to the workplace safety and health of employees and contractors.
