Produces and/or supports the development of all types of Instrumentation and Control systems deliverables on a project, including P&IDs; field instrument specifications, datasheets, and requisitions; control systems specs, and requisitions (including DCS, SIS, Fire & Gas, PLC, etc.); analyzer and analyzer shelter specs, datasheets, and requisitions; flowmeter and control valve sizing calculations; design drawings including wiring diagrams, location plans, installation details, loop diagrams, panel drawings, and Remote Instrument Building layouts for LNG, Energy Transition, Carbon Capture, Refining and Petrochemical Plant projects.

  • Reports to the Instrument and Controls Lead on a particular project
  • Monitors and advises Lead Engineer of changes
  • Reports progress and updates schedules on particular tasks
  • Prepares Engineering Change Request as required
  • Researches suitable solutions and estimated cost and timescales
  • Generates Instrumentation and Control Systems equipment and construction specifications
  • Generates instrumentation and control systems equipment requisitions, examines quotes, manages PO’s, reviews vendor documents
  • Evaluates the selection and/or modification of standard techniques, procedures, criteria and systems to efficiently meet project goals
  • Applies standard engineering tasks and exhibits a working knowledge of applicable codes
  • Reviews and generates design data from various inputs
  • Performs sophisticated and complicated designs and instrumentation and control calculations in accordance with established company standards
  • Coordinates details and miscellaneous design criteria with other disciplines
  • Assists designers and drafters in their assignments
  • Prepares engineering reports, studies, calculations and checks drawings as required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or related
  • Courses in Measurement & Instrumentation, Signals, or Process Control
  • Less than 2 years of related working experience
  • Good insightful, mathematical, database, spreadsheet, and computer skills
  • Accurate with data and calculations and efficient with time
  • Understands design concepts and design data for scope assigned and assures technical accuracy and conformance to project requirements
