About The Position

David Weekley Homes is looking for enthusiastic professionals to play a pivotal role in building quality homes and providing an exceptional home-buying experience for our customers with our Indianapolis team. This role requires a team player with excellent communication and focus on customer service.

Requirements

  • Ability to establish good working relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds, inside and outside the company
  • Can build rapport and maintain Customer Delight during the buying/building process
  • Motivate building partners to perform at a high level of competency
  • Analyze and resolve problems that arise through the building process
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and persistence to get things done
  • Decisive, flexible and composed under pressure, when faced with unexpected situations or delays and in a very fast-paced environment
  • Acts with a high degree of integrity
  • Has strong attention to detail, time management, prioritization and organizational skills to meet established goals & deadlines
  • Prior experience in the home building or related industry is preferred
  • OR an Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Supply Chain Management or related degrees
  • Basic computer proficiency required to handle job costing, payroll & communication with vendors & trades
  • Knowledge of Construction Practices and Terminology as well as the ability to read and understand blueprints and construction documents preferred

Responsibilities

  • Planning, scheduling, and managerial oversight of quality-built homes from development through final construction on a timely and economical basis
  • Direct and monitor the progress of multiple homes in various stages of construction concurrently
  • Schedule subcontractors and manage the quality of construction, productivity and compliance with building/safety codes
  • Manage trade/vendor relationships in order to build homes on schedule and close on time
  • Maintain safe, clean and compliant job sites
  • Coordinate delivery and use of materials throughout the construction process
  • Complete homes and all customer walk-through items prior to closing
  • Conduct weekly Home Buyer Meetings with customers in collaboration with the sales team
  • Track and control construction costs against the budget in order to avoid cost overruns
  • Implement knowledge of construction methods, regulations, contracts and blueprint reading
  • Prepare daily, monthly & quarterly reports
