About The Position

We are seeking a highly qualified Future Operations Specialist to support the Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES) G‑35 Future Operations Division. This position provides advanced operational planning, liaison support, and decision‑support services integral to MARFORRES readiness and future force employment. Work is performed onsite at MARFORRES Headquarters, Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week (0700–1800).

Requirements

  • Graduate of one of the following advanced warfighting schools (mandatory):
  • School of Advanced Warfighting (SAW) – USMC
  • School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS) – U.S. Army
  • Maritime Advanced Warfighting School (MAWS) – U.S. Navy
  • School of Advanced Air and Space Studies (SAASS) – U.S. Air Force (accepted equivalent)
  • Active SECRET clearance with the ability to access NIPR/SIPR systems.
  • Demonstrated experience applying MCPP/JPP to operational planning requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to brief senior leaders (O‑6 and above).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous service in joint operational planning roles or Marine Corps G‑3/5 organizations.
  • Experience supporting exercise planning or Global Force Management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Support MARFORRES G‑35 in administering Marine Corps strategic and operational programs, projects, and actions.
  • Conduct daily liaison between HQMC, MARFORRES leadership, and Major Subordinate Commands (MSCs) to ensure mission alignment with COMMARFORRES intent.
  • Apply in‑depth expertise in the Marine Corps Planning Process (MCPP), Joint Planning Process (JPP), and Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) for planning and decision support.
  • Develop and manage Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms) supporting future operations.
  • Draft and support the development of Execution Orders (EXORDs), Planning Orders (PLANORDs), Operations Orders (OPORDs), and Letters of Instruction (LOIs).
  • Participate in Initial, Mid, Final Planning Conferences (IPC/MPC/FPC), Concept Development Conferences (CDC), and theater security cooperation events.
  • Conduct analysis of joint, service, and MARFORRES directives to extract and interpret required operational tasks.
  • Support Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2) and Automated Message Handling System (AMHS) task and communication workflows.
