About The Position

Your insurance verification skills matter most as you're not just answering phones - you're our revenue protection specialist and patient financial counselor. Your ability to accurately verify coverage, explain costs clearly to patients, and ensure clean claims will be your most valuable contribution.

Requirements

  • Experience with insurance verification and medical billing (non-negotiable).
  • Ability to explain complex insurance concepts to frustrated patients with empathy and clarity.
  • Obsessively detail-oriented - a single digit error in an insurance ID can cost thousands.
  • Experience as a Medical Receptionist, Administrative Assistant, or in any Customer Service role in a medical office setting.
  • Tech-savvy with medical billing software and EMR systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and can find billing solutions that work for both patients and the clinic.
  • Maintain a positive attitude even when dealing with challenging financial conversations.

  • X-Ray Tech, Medical Assistant or related certification.

Responsibilities

  • Master Insurance Verification: Meticulously verify coverage BEFORE services are provided, prevent claim denials, and maximize revenue capture.
  • Excel at Financial Counseling: Confidently explain costs, billing processes, and insurance complexities to patients in a way they understand.
  • Solve Billing Problems: Proactively identify and resolve insurance discrepancies and billing issues before they impact revenue.
  • Drive Patient Satisfaction: Deliver exceptional service even during difficult financial conversations - keeping patients happy while handling payment matters.
  • Be the Face of AFC: Greet patients with the warmth and professionalism that makes AFC stand out in healthcare.
  • Own the Front Desk Flow: Process payments, schedule appointments, and manage patient check-ins with lightning efficiency.
  • Protect Patient Information: Maintain organized records while strictly following HIPAA regulations.
