About The Position

The Furniture Repair Technician Lead is responsible for overseeing shop operations and coaching technicians in furniture repair. This role involves coordinating with various departments to resolve customer issues and manage inventory control, ensuring high-quality service and efficient operations within the Furniture Repair Shop.

Requirements

• Preferred minimum of one year of experience working with wood furniture, leather, fabric, and upholstery.
• Ability to assess damages and choose appropriate methods of repair.
• Experience using power tools and ability to instruct employees on their safe use.
• Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to learn and apply new technologies including iPads, Word, Excel, etc.
• Ability to work all shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute shop operations in conjunction with the Furniture Repair Management team.
• Oversee the Furniture Repair Shop and coach Furniture Repair Technicians on repair techniques.
• Coordinate with multiple departments to resolve customer issues and inventory control problems.
• Establish schedules and provide continual training to team members with an emphasis on safety and service.
• Appraise employee performance and provide feedback and coaching to team members.
• Communicate and develop teamwork among Furniture Repair Technicians.
• Address complaints and resolve problems as needed.
• Proactively manage changes in the operation of the Furniture Repair Shop.
• Build and develop business relationships vital to the success of the operation.
