About The Position

The Furniture Repair Technician 1 repairs, restores, and inspects merchandise that has been damaged or has manufacturer defects. Will work inside the shop or on the dock ensuring outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum 1-2 years experience working with upholstery, an array of fabrics, wood furniture, leather and veneer finishes.
Able to use necessary tools and equipment.
Strong working knowledge of leather repairs, wood repairs including scratches, dents and split wood.
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

Identify repair needed and follow standard operating procedures to repair based upon the need
Demonstrate proficiency in repairing at least one of the following: Upholstery / Leather products to include stitching, panel replacement, mechanism, frame repair, button replacement, as well as other components Wood / case goods to include burn ins, color matching, panel replacements, adjustment of drawers, doors, glides and other components
Achieve 80% restock to first quality
Identify proper quality disposition of furniture after inspection.
Have clear understanding and experience with product assembly
Utilize proper lifting techniques
Able to operate radio frequency equipment
Conducts operations in compliance with OSHA standards
Maintains a clean work area, free from debris on warehouse floor
Meet company standards for productivity
