Learn more at www.bytheyard.net Job Summary: Under the direction of the Product Development Specialist, the role uses 3D CAD software to reverse engineer existing products to create functional working drawings for use in photo realistic imagery, CNC machine programming, and new product development. This is an in-person role located in Sand Creek Township (Shakopee/Jordan border) in Minnesota.

Requirements

  • Experience in relevant CAD software.
  • Fusion 360 experience required.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong understanding of design principles and technical specifications.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in models.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with various teams.
  • Problem-solving skills to address technical challenges during the design process.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Understand and follow written, verbal and demonstrated directions.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years or more of Fusion 360 experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product design and furniture builder to reverse engineer existing products.
  • Refine models based on feedback, ensuring designs meet product specifications and company standards.
  • Create new and/or modify 3D models and detailed technical drawings based on product and material specifications.
  • Ensure models meet quality, functionality, and product requirements.
  • Revise and update models based on feedback from stakeholders.
  • Assist with new product development to create models to test viability of designs.
  • Assist in the creation of CNC drawings, programs, and fixtures as needed.
  • Create new BOM's and check existing BOM's for accuracy and completeness as needed.
  • Analyze job orders, review specifications and make calculations to determine where materials should be cut, drilled, etc. as needed.
  • Remain compliant and enforce housekeeping standards and all safety and work rules and regulations.
  • Create and perform engravings as needed.
  • Work with other departments on various assignments as necessary.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
