About The Position

Hudson’s Furniture is a second generation family owned company. We’ve been serving Florida's residents with our mission of 'Turning Houses into Homes' since 1982. Hudson's Furniture is seeking to contract with Owner Operators / Independent Contractors. This is an opportunity for delivery drivers with experience operating 26’ box trucks. Commission based pay. Average driver makes $60-80k/yearly plus bonuses.

Requirements

• Excellent human relations and verbal communication skills.
• Neat appearance since customer contact is required.
• Must be able to provide your own helper.
• Position can be physically demanding, requiring long hours, standing, walking, stooping and physical agility and dexterity, and is subject to weather extremes.
• Ability to lift 75 lbs.
• Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 75 lbs. with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a clean DL to be covered under our insurance to drive our vehicles.
• Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment or outside in adverse weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, efficient and damage free furniture to the customer.
• Provide safe delivery of furniture while representing Hudson’s Furniture in a professional manner.
• Must operate vehicles safely and efficiently, complying with all governmental and corporate procedures.
• Answers all customer questions and must provide exceptional customer care and service.
• Must have a working knowledge of building/setting up pieces and ability to read through diagrams and/or directions as necessary.
• All drivers are expected to comply with Hudson’s Furniture appearance guidelines.
• Requires extensive communication with customers and Manager/Supervisors.
• Requires completion of all company mandated documentation (including electronic and/or paperwork) and must follow all company policies and procedures.
• Must learn and be able to make minor repairs and touch ups to the furniture.
• Must perform morning stretches in line with our warehouse safety program.
• Must report all injuries, damages, and any other issues immediately to their supervisor.
• Must complete daily DVIR form and follow-up and/or perform minor maintenance repairs as required.
• Must maintain the cleanliness and organization of your truck and or bay area if loading.
• Must maintain a high completion percentage monthly with a minimum of 92% but is expected to attain a much higher score.
