About The Position

The Funeral Services Assistant plays a vital role in supporting funeral operations by providing clerical and administrative assistance. This part-time position involves interacting with the public, answering inquiries about funeral and cremation services, and assisting with various tasks during services and ceremonies, all while adhering to the company's mission and values.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office suite and databases preferred; ability and willingness to learn required.
• Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
• High level of compassion and integrity required.
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills required.
• Professional behaviors and team player attitude required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for services by delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, and personal keepsakes.
• Prepares documents related to services and cremations as directed by management.
• Assists with the respectful preparation of remains, including dressing and lifting, or operating the crematory as permitted by law.
• Performs office duties such as answering phones and operating various office equipment.
• Runs errands for floral delivery and picking up supplies or documents.
• Serves as an usher and may park cars or perform transportation requirements.
• Drives Funeral Home vehicles for services and family pickups.
• Ensures refreshments are available where allowed by law.
• Assists with visitations, memorial, and funeral services, including setup and dressing of remains.
• Greets and receives client families and provides assistance as needed.
