About The Position

As a licensed Funeral Director, you will compassionately facilitate funeral arrangement discussions with the deceased's next of kin and preside over visitation, funeral, and graveside services in accordance with the family's wishes, company expectations, and local, state, or federal laws. You may also perform embalming responsibilities and ensure compliance with all mortuary, health, and vital statistics regulations within the funeral establishment(s). Your role will involve receiving or initiating calls to the deceased's next of kin, obtaining or confirming contact information, discussing needs, scheduling appointments, and caring for the deceased in a respectful manner. You will also be responsible for directing services, confirming authorizations, and presiding as Master of Ceremonies for services. Additionally, you will perform event planning responsibilities, including resource planning and ordering of music, flowers, or catering, and produce memorial products. You will work under general guidance, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies, and may perform various attendant duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduated from an accredited school or college of mortuary science.
  • Current Funeral Director and Embalmer dual license within the practicing state.
  • Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Performs event planning responsibilities including resource planning.
  • Produces memorial products and prepares event rooms.
  • Maintains preparation room and inventories supplies.
