About The Position

WSP is currently seeking a Funding and Financing Strategy Senior Advisor (Part-Time) for its Advisory & Planning Services. This role is part of a growing organization focused on meeting client objectives and solving challenges. WSP USA’s Advisory & Planning Services professionals are dedicated to developing business and operational solutions across all areas of management, investment, and development throughout the entire business life cycle, offering a unique combination of infrastructure expertise and management consulting leadership. The Funding and Financing Strategy Senior Advisor position is within the Economics, Finance and Grants team, where the individual will advise public and private organizations nationwide on how to fund and finance their infrastructure projects and initiatives, thereby driving both project delivery and business development for the group.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling attributes including inflation and cost drivers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to think creatively, work independently, and deliver high quality work with minimal oversight
  • Ability to lead teams, synthesize problems, and communicate point of view and analytical results
  • Manage time efficiently while supporting multiple projects in parallel
  • Proven experience in transportation, infrastructure, and related sectors
  • Significant experience using Microsoft Office’s suite of applications and their higher level capabilities

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Finance, Planning, Public Policy or related disciplines
  • Familiarity with Federal Transit Administration and/or other US Department of Transportation funding and financing programs such as the Capital Investment Grants Program (CIG); Section 5307, 5337, and 5339 formula programs; other discretionary grant programs; and federal financing programs such as TIFIA and RRIF
  • Familiarity with financial aspects and challenges of energy, water and other infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of federal and state-level infrastructure policy and funding
  • Strategic planning experience

Responsibilities

  • Advising clients on project and program funding and financing options
  • Overseeing the development financial models, other quantitative analyses, and data analytics
  • Providing guidance to clients on funding and financing needs and opportunities
  • Researching funding and financing industry trends
  • Evaluating and advising clients on funding and financing alternatives and priorities
  • Reviewing of reports, memorandums, and client ready documentation
  • Lead client meetings and workshops
  • Tracking, reviewing, and interpreting federal legislation and guidance
  • Providing strategic support in all phases of infrastructure planning and project development
