GCU Traditional Campus - Phoenix, AZ: Instruction for our Fall Semester begins on September 8, 2026, and ends on December 20, 2026 – Final Course Grades are due on December 27, 2026 Course: Fundamentals of Communication This course is an introduction to the field of communication with emphasis on the history of communication study, relevant communication theories guiding current research, the contexts in which communication occurs, and issues faced by students of communication. The course focuses on introducing students to various communication models as well as theories and skills in interpersonal communication, small group communication, mass communication, intercultural communication, and public communication.

Requirements

  • Master's in Communication
  • Exceptions may be granted to individuals with a Master's in any field possessing 18 graduate credits in Communications and substantial work experience
  • Your unofficial transcript reflecting degree earned with 18 graduate credit hours in the areas listed above
  • Your unofficial transcripts for any applicable conferred graduate degrees
  • Employment is contingent upon the satisfactory outcome (as determined by the university) of pre-employment screening activities, including a background check.
  • All staff and faculty candidates will be asked to review GCU’s Staff or Faculty expectations as part of the application process.
