About The Position

ONLY Fund For Wisconsin Scholars can apply The Fund for Wisconsin Scholars (FFWS) Peer Mentor serves as a campus contact person for FFWS grant recipients with emphasis on First Year Grant Recipients and New Transfer Grants Recipients. Students who meet the job specifications are highly encouraged to apply for the position. The FFWS Peer Mentor plays a crucial role in connecting with new and transfer FFWS scholars to assist in building a strong connection to campus with the goal of every scholar graduating.

  • Must be a Fund for Wisconsin Scholar
  • Sophomore or Junior

  • Previous mentor and data entry experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide information about the FFWS grant program to the FFWS grant recipients.
  • Provide support and resource information that will assist FFWS grant recipients in achieving their goal of college graduation.
  • Serve as a liaison between the FFWS Peer Mentor Program Supervisor and the FFWS grant recipients.
  • Be knowledgeable about campus support services and how to refer FFWS grant recipients to those services when appropriate.
  • Participate in FFWS Peer Mentor training provided by the FFWS Peer Mentor Program Supervisor. Training topics inclusive of, but not limited to: role of an FFWS Peer Mentor; diversity/racial equity; confidentiality; respectful boundaries, anti-harassment and nondiscriminatory behavior; campus resources, and other topics as relevant.
