About The Position

The Fund Analyst (FA) is a mission-critical role that ensures every donor dollar is honored, tracked, and maximized for impact. This position oversees restricted gifts, pledges, and grants, safeguarding donor intent, and strengthening financial integrity across the organization. Embedded within the Finance team, the Fund Analyst partners closely with Program Operations, Development, and Accounting to turn financial data into meaningful insight. Responsibilities include managing fund balances, creating and maintaining Fund IDs, supporting reconciliations, and delivering clear, actionable financial and statistical reports. Beyond day-to-day execution, the Fund Analyst helps improve processes, elevate data quality, and drive smarter, more transparent reporting. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing restricted funds and financial tracking.
  • Strong experience with fund balance and bank reconciliations.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit fund accounting and financial management principles.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis, pivot tables, and complex formulas.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with event fundraising financials and net revenue tracking.
  • Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge, Financial Edge, or similar CRM/accounting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage restricted pledges and grants from award through disbursement, ensuring accurate tracking and compliance.
  • Ensure accurate ongoing tracking and reconciliation of Fund ID balances
  • Maintain program inventory and regularly sync data with Program Operations and Revenue Operations teams.
  • Record, reconcile, and monitor program grant credits to support accurate financial reporting and compliance.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Fund ID creation and maintenance in Raiser’s Edge (RE) and Financial Edge (FE).
  • Establish and maintain Fund ID criteria to ensure alignment between development and financial tracking.
  • Partner with the Controller on RE-to-FE posting, clearing, and adjustment processes.
  • Reconcile multiple data sources, prepare reports, and maintain complete supporting documentation.
  • Streamline gift-processing workflows to support multiple schedules, dispersed team members, and diverse program contributors.
  • Develop and enhance financial reporting tools.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses, including prepaid and accrued expense accounts.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and related adjusting entries for reconciling items.
  • Record and monitor stock and bond donations, including coordination with finance and development teams to ensure accurate valuation, compliance, and reporting.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement system and process improvements to enhance efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Evaluate existing workflows and support change management and process improvement initiatives.
