Job Description Alternative Investments Associates and Accountants are part of a collaborative team responsible for maintaining the general ledger and records for hedge funds, private equity funds, and registered products of varying complexity. Acts as primary fund accountant on multiple investment advisor relationships. Prepares daily general ledger entries, prime broker and bank cash reconciliations, advisor and portfolio management processing, corporate action applications, expense accruals and payments, timely distribution of internal and external information, and portfolio reconciliations. Collaborates with internal and external administrators, transfer agencies, prime brokers, and custodians to ensure compliance with SEC regulations and adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), across all fund accounting functions. Records trade activity, income and expense transactions, and apply security valuations within the portfolio accounting system. Produces end-of-month (or quarterly) Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations. Prepares fund financial statements, audit and tax reporting.
