About the role: Reports to the Financial Reporting Manager What you'll be doing Assist with all aspects of accounting matters, supporting and assisting with the preparation, reconciliation and proofing of investor reports, statutory financial statements and ad-hoc investor requests Develop an increasing client presence, taking a lead in regular client calls and correspondence Assist with the completion of routine audit queries and some aspects of company secretarial matters including preparation of filings for regulatory bodies Prepare periodic bank reconciliations and provide or source supporting documentation evidencing transactions Prepare drawdown and distribution calculations plus notices on an ad hoc basis when requested by clients Ensure Aztec internal control frameworks are followed in full Maintain accurate records on company systems and Microsoft Excel working paper schedules for all aspects of bookkeeping Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of periodic direct and indirect tax returns to the extent relevant Assist and support the induction, integration and training of junior staff. Support with and/or complete fund administration processes as required. What we're looking for The candidate will be expected to be studying towards a relevant professional qualification (preferably having commenced ACCA Fundamental Skills level or ACA Professional level) 2+ years previous experience in Accounting or Audit, ideally in the alternative funds sector (either in-house with a fund manager or a fund administrator) Sound technical knowledge of UK GAAP and reporting required for the alternative funds sectors Computer literacy, word processing and spreadsheet skills are essential Strong collaboration skills and passionate team player Good interpersonal skills are required to develop close working relationships with colleagues, clients and business contacts Ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with a ‘can-do’ attitude Aztec will provide the training, both in-house for relevant technical knowledge and also professional qualifications to enhance your professional development. Requirements
