About The Position

The Functional Genomics Data Science Co-Op role involves collaborating with lead scientists to execute, analyze, and interpret high throughput molecular biology experiments aimed at testing gene expression predictions through machine learning and statistical modeling. The position requires documenting research plans, methods, results, and data analysis, as well as preparing and communicating reports and summaries to key stakeholders and broader audiences. The co-op will also collaborate on the preparation of sequencing libraries, follow established operational standards, prioritize and coordinate work within a larger team, and deliver analysis at scale in cloud computing environments.

Requirements

  • Enrolled within a university in the US, pursuing a MS or PhD degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, or related field.
  • Experience with large sequence dataset analysis, statistics, Python/R.
  • Experience working in a UNIX environment.
  • Experience with machine learning.
  • Ability to derive key insights from recent scientific literature and apply to new datasets.

Responsibilities
