About The Position

The Full Time Total Joint Pre-Testing Nurse, R.N. at OASIS Surgery Center is responsible for coordinating pre-operative testing for patients undergoing total joint surgery. This role ensures that patients are healthy enough for surgery and educates them on preparation and post-operative care. The nurse will also handle scheduling and communicate vital patient information to the medical team, ensuring thorough pre-operative documentation and patient readiness.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in Ohio.
• Active CPR certification; ACLS/PALS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of related nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to patients and family members.
• Communicate relevant patient information to the care team.
• Complete pre-operative documentation.
• Coordinate with Physical Therapy and Total Joint Specialist for patient education and prehab.
• Make pre-op calls and review patient information for completeness.
• Utilize specialized nursing knowledge to provide direct or indirect care.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure a safe, supportive environment.
• Assess patient needs and implement appropriate interventions.
• Participate in staff meetings and in-service programs.
• Be responsive to emergency situations and comply with policies.
