About The Position
Seattle Central College is looking to hire a Full-Time Tenure Track Mathematics Faculty in the Mathematics Department. This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by AFT-SCD. The Seattle Central College Mathematics Department is a highly engaged faculty group energized by improving student outcomes for all students. The department offers more accessible and student-centered options including a guided self-placement tool, corequisite courses, and utilizes open educational resources (OER). The department supports and encourages faculty to be creative in the ways in which they support student learning including, for example, alternative grading systems and anti-racist teaching pedagogies. Teaching responsibilities include all levels of mathematics including pre-college, corequisite, college level, applied math, and statistics courses. The Math Department intentionally balances instructional modalities such as in-person, hybrid, online (asynchronous), and supports the extensive use of technology. Class times vary and may include days, evenings, and weekends according to program needs. All full-time faculty are expected to be available to teach in-person classes, as needed.
