About The Position

The Security Officer at the Grand Ole Opry is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for guests, clients, and employees at the Grand Ole Opry House and its surrounding properties. This role involves providing crowd control and enforcing company policies while treating all individuals with courtesy, dignity, and respect. The Security Officer plays a crucial role in protecting company property and ensuring the safety of all attendees and staff during events and daily operations. The officer will monitor the safety and security of the buildings and adjacent properties through various means, including mobile and foot patrols, stationary posts, CCTV monitoring, and traffic control. Key responsibilities include performing safety and security duties such as protecting property, maintaining order, directing traffic, checking access passes and IDs, conducting parcel searches and pat-downs, and enforcing policies as outlined in Standard Security Procedures (SSTs), including those related to alcohol. In the event of emergencies, the Security Officer will respond to medical, fire, or weather-related incidents, assist guests as necessary, and help coordinate evacuation procedures. The officer may also provide assistance to patrons and employees in need of medical attention while awaiting emergency medical personnel. Additionally, the role may require administering minor first aid, CPR, and using an AED. The Security Officer will also provide security for artists, dignitaries, and other VIPs, oversee parking areas to ensure that only authorized vehicles are granted access, conduct safety inspections, and report any safety hazards, including defective equipment. The officer will prepare incident, accident, and other reports as required at specific posts and provide on-the-job training to new security officers. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
