About The Position
WellPower is a large, well-established, innovative, and vibrant community mental health center that provides outpatient mental health services to individuals recovering from serious and persistent mental illness. WellPower has two retail pharmacies embedded in our clinic sites. The pharmacies are designed to provide medications to persons in services at WellPower, and the community at large. Pharmacy staff support persons served, nursing staff, and medical staff. Primary duties for this position include order entry and dispensing duties, resolution of insurance issues, and communicating effectively with residential staff at assisted living facilities. The current pharmacy staff have been with WellPower anywhere from 9 months to 20 years, with an average of 8 years length of service. Pharmacists engage in all aspects of Pharmaceutical Care, including reviewing and interpreting prescriptions, detecting therapeutic incompatibilities, prescription dispensing, maintaining records, counseling consumers. Review drug therapies according to professional standards and state and federal legal requirements. Provide medication information to patients, staff, and other health professionals. Provide Pharmacy Practice Services under Colorado State Wide Protocols and/or under a Collaborative Practice Agreement with a WellPower Provider.
