About The Position

Harris Teeter is seeking a full-time associate to join our team, where we prioritize customer service and satisfaction. This position involves extensive customer contact, and associates will receive training to enhance their skills in providing excellent service. The primary responsibility is to take excellent care of our customers by meeting their needs and exceeding their expectations during every shopping visit. Associates will manage various aspects of the Personal Shopper program, including downloading internet orders and loading customer vehicles. During slower periods, associates may also perform duties as a bagger or cashier. Positive customer relations are crucial, as they enhance the public's image of Harris Teeter and contribute to customer loyalty and increased sales.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence in English.
• Basic mathematical skills, including addition and subtraction of two-digit numbers.
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.

Nice To Haves

• Valid Driver's License.
• Previous experience in customer service or retail is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a positive image of Harris Teeter.
• Assist customers with their needs and requests, ensuring a pleasant shopping experience.
• Download and shop internet orders, and load customer vehicles as needed.
• Operate the Point of Sale Register and bag orders according to company policy.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, complying with health and safety regulations.
• Communicate effectively with customers and fellow associates regarding products and promotions.
• Report any issues with advertised items, pricing, or store conditions to management.
• Support fellow associates and contribute to a positive team environment.
