About The Position
The position is for a full-time paraprofessional at Merwin Elementary, working 7 hours a day for a total of 188 days on the work calendar. The role is designed to support students who face significant challenges in verbal and nonverbal communication, social interaction skills, and adjusting to changes in their environment. The paraprofessional will assist students in developing skills such as initiating and responding to others, understanding emotions, making eye contact, and sharing interests in activities. The program aims to strengthen functional communication, social interaction, and self-regulation through sensory strategies. Students may also participate in general education settings as determined by their IEP team.
