About The Position

Language on Demand, Inc. is seeking skilled and reliable freelance American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters to provide on-site interpretation services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals in various settings across the Virginia Beach, VA area. This role requires interpreters to hold an active security clearance or be willing to be sponsored for one, and it emphasizes flexibility and technical experience in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Possess active Security Clearance or have the ability to be sponsored for one.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in ASL interpreting, particularly in government or STEM-related fields.
• Possess current certification recognized by the State Board for Evaluation of Interpreter (BEI), National Registry Interpreter for the Deaf (RID), or National Association of the Deaf (NAD).
• Ability to interpret in various modes of sign language (ASL, PSE, CASE).

Nice To Haves

• Experience in STEM-related work.
• Technical experience in administrative or technical specialist disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site ASL interpretation services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals.
