About The Position

A fun and fully staffed Long Island family is seeking a highly experienced Nanny to care for their 17-month-old daughter and a newborn due at the end of June. The baby will have an NCS so that child will not be in your care until he is between 3-6 months old. This is a live-in position while on duty, sharing a room with the baby until March. Once the family moves back to their permanent residence in approximately 3 months, the nanny will have a private bedroom and bathroom. The household is exceptionally clean, organized, and highly sterile, so the ideal candidate must excel in hygiene, structure, and child-related upkeep. The family values professionalism, common sense, strong understanding of development, emotional stability, high energy, and strong communication. The family is open to relocation or local candidates. Must have long term roles or have been an NCS who has also worked as a nanny with toddlers. Please Note: Public transportation may not be utilized to arrive at work.

Requirements

  • Candidates must demonstrate strong emotional intelligence, and the ability to stay level-headed during periods of stress or complex challenges
  • Extensive experience as a Nanny for infants and toddlers in private homes
  • Strong understanding of milestones and child development
  • Emotional stability and the ability to remain steady in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain structure, boundaries, and routines
  • Detail-oriented with strong hygiene and sterilization knowledge
  • Excellent cook for toddler meals (purees, soups, stews, proteins, vegetables)
  • Comfortable in a fully staffed household
  • Proven longevity and glowing references
  • CPR & First Aid (or willing to update immediately)
  • Valid driver’s license & clean driving record
  • Up-to-date on Tdap, Flu, and all standard immunizations
  • Non-smoker
  • Must be legal to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Provide refined, developmentally focused care for a toddler and a newborn
  • Maintain exceptionally high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sterilization
  • Disinfect bottles, toys, and all child-related equipment
  • Prepare fresh, organic purees
  • Cook soups, stews, chicken, vegetables, and fruit for the toddler (must be confident cooking)
  • Track and support developmental milestones and plan age-appropriate learning activities
  • Maintain a joyful, warm, calm, and emotionally stable presence
  • Keep nursery and child areas pristine, organized, and fully stocked
  • Communicate clearly and work collaboratively with parents and additional staff
  • Drive confidently; work car provided during your shift
