About The Position

A warm, kind, and private family in the TriBeCa neighborhood of New York is seeking an experienced, professional live-out full-time nanny for their two children: a 2-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl. The general schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8am to 6pm, with flexibility required for at least one late evening per month, typically until 8/8:30pm. The family spends approximately seven weeks each summer in the Hamptons, during which time the position becomes live-in. A private, spacious suite is provided, and the candidate may either remain in residence or return home on days off. The family is supportive and values clear boundaries, respects days off, and appreciates reasonable flexibility. The position is available to start as soon as possible. Requirements

  • Prior experience in a similar role with children of approximately the same age
  • Understands child development and age-appropriate expectations
  • Ability to navigate the city comfortably with two small children
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Passport-ready preferred
  • Ability to travel domestically required. Ability to travel internationally is a plus
  • Seeking a long-term position
  • Flexibility to work late when requested
  • Comfortable with parents who work from home occasionally
  • Ability to live-in during the summers at the family’s Hamptons residence (approximately 7 weeks)
  • Comfortable with a small dog (pet-friendly)
  • Up-to-date flu and MMR vaccination required.
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • Must sign and adhere to NDA
  • Legal to work in the U. S.

Nice To Haves

  • The ability to speak Spanish is not a requirement, but it would be a huge plus.
  • Experience with early academics is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Full-charge care of both children
  • Creating a safe, nurturing, and structured environment
  • Managing and maintaining daily routines, schedules, and smooth transitions
  • Meal planning and prep, including snacks; overseeing and implementing healthy eating habits
  • Children’s laundry, maintain tidy and organized child-related spaces, clean up after meals, load/unload dishwasher, and wipe down countertop and table
  • School drop-offs and pick-ups (parents typically handle morning drop-off – assist with teeth brushing and help get them out the door)
  • Planning and facilitating age-appropriate activities, classes, playdates, and outings
  • Supporting developmental milestones, imaginative play, and leading by example
  • Coordinating naps, afternoon activities (have a plan B for inclement weather), bed, and bath time
  • Supporting learning initiatives (tutors are in place; experience with early academics is a plus)
  • Drive to/from activities when in the Hamptons
  • Travel prep, pack/unpack
  • Provide updates to parents as requested
